In this edition: Billing errors are quietly draining freight budgets, and volatile markets are making it worse. The case for automated freight audits has never been stronger. This also reflects how Portcast is expanding its platform to address these challenges. We share what we have been building, a guide for F&B logistics teams, and highlights from recent industry events.
Overpaying on Freight in a Disrupted Market?
The Hormuz disruption has pushed freight costs up and invoice complexity through the roof. Surcharges, rerouting fees, and accessorial charges are piling up, and billing errors multiply in volatile markets. Shippers using Portcast's Freight Auditare already seeing up to 30% in cost savings by automatically catching overcharges, validating invoices against contract terms, and resolving disputes fast.
If margins are under pressure, this is where you start recovering.
In recent months, new capabilities have been going live across the Portcast platform. From preventing risk-related costs before they materialize (Command Center) to identifying patterns that erode margins (KPI Dashboard) to recovering charges that should not have been billed (Freight Audit), Portcast has moved beyond visibility to provide shippers and forwarders with integrated control over costs across the entire freight lifecycle.
As a freight intelligence platform for global transportation, our new homepage reflects that evolution. Take a look at what we have built.
Food and beverage supply chains face logistics risks that most visibility tools were not built to address: identifying delays early enough to protect shelf life, customer SLAs, and the bottom line. In this guide, we break down why F&B teams should look beyond ETA accuracy, what early exception detection requires, and how to move from reactive firefighting to proactive operations.
At Key Industry Events: From Long Beach to Paris and Singapore
Portcast attended TPM 2026 in Long Beach, where our CEO, Nidhi Gupta, spoke with BCOs about the hidden cost of shipment inefficiencies. We were also at SITL Paris, connecting with the European freight community.
In Singapore, Nidhi took the stage at the Cross-Chamber Networking Event, making the case that supply chain fragility predates disruptions and that data and AI are what help teams get ahead of it. She also presented Portcast to the Canadian trade delegation at PIER71, alongside MPA Singapore, in a discussion on building maritime innovation ecosystems.
