From performance analytics built on completed voyages to fresh transit time insights, here's how Portcast is helping teams plan with confidence this year.
From an enhanced Logistics KPI Dashboard that turns past shipments into performance intelligence, to our global transit time trends report and a practical breakdown of PEPPOL e-invoicing, we're bringing insights and resources to help logistics teams plan with more clarity. Plus, a small milestone we're excited to share with our community.
Product Update: Logistics KPI Dashboard
We're excited to share about the enhanced Portcast Logistics KPI Dashboard, already adopted by customers managing high-volume, multi-region freight operations.
This analytics capability helps logistics and procurement teams turn historical shipment data into clear performance insights.
Complementing Portcast's Command Center, which helps teams act on live risks, the KPI Dashboard analyzes completed voyages to show how carriers, trade lanes, and ports actually perform over time.
Why it matters
Carrier performance insights: Get a clear view of how carriers perform across your network using sortable tables and filters. Analyze transit times, reliability, and delays, and quickly identify top and bottom performers by trade lane, port, or route type.
Network performance insights: Review dwell times and delays at ports or transshipment hubs, compare carriers head-to-head on specific lanes, and evaluate direct versus transshipment routes.
Intelligence for decision-making: Use AI-powered recommendations to guide carrier selection and procurement. Identify which carriers to prioritize or replace, and support contract negotiations with performance data.
Whether you're reviewing carrier performance, optimizing your network, or preparing for the next procurement cycle, the KPI Dashboard gives teams a solid analytics foundation for more confident decisions.
Our transit time trends report breaks down what actually changed in Q4 2025, why it happened, and what shippers and forwarders should factor into planning in the coming months.
A few highlights from the report:
Asia → North/West Europe: Transit times ran +2.3 days vs Q4 2024 and +1.9 days vs the rest of 2025, driven by Cape of Good Hope routings and port congestion.
North America ↔ Europe: Reliability weakened toward year-end, with planned vs actual gaps widening into December due to winter operations and congestion.
Asia → North America: Execution stabilized with low volatility, but transit times were still ~2 days slower than planned.
North America → South America: Regional lanes remained stable, showing small but consistent delays rather than sharp disruptions.
PEPPOL e-invoicing is set to reshape how freight invoices move across the supply chain. As mandates roll out globally by 2026, logistics teams are shifting from PDFs and emails to structured, machine-readable invoices.
In this blog, we unpack what PEPPOL actually changes for logistics teams, what it helps standardize, where its limits remain, and how it compares to OCR and IDP in real-world workflows.
We're excited to share a small milestone with our community. Portcast is now followed by 20,000 logistics and supply chain professionals on LinkedIn. Over time, this page has grown into more than just updates. It's where we share timely insights during disruptions, port congestion, skipped sailings, and those "what just changed?" moments in global shipping.
Thank you to everyone who follows, engages, and shares. And if you're not following Portcast on LinkedIn yet, we'd like to have you join the conversation.
